Hot soups and snacks are served in the Ryder Schoolhouse, next to the ice house. Free admission (donations appreciated). January 21 - New London Winter Carnival

Watch them saddle up, strap on some skis, grab on to a rope and get ready for the thrill of a lifetime as horse and rider pull a skier down a course consisting of gates, jumps and jousting rings. This is a timed event that has penalties for missed gates and rings so it’s essential to make all the jumps, catch all the rings and negotiate all the gates in record time all while dodging ice and snowballs being thrown from the horses hooves.  For more information contact  NE Ski Joring Assc. at  www.nesja.com.
